Hand designed type and graphic elements are used to reflect the handmade, craft nature of the Musée Mécanique and the mechanical displays within it. All display type plus some complimentary type was hand written, scanned, and digitized for use in a variety of positions for each element of the series. All non-photographic images were either drawn digitally or hand painted and digitized.

The Musée Mécanique logo was drawn with a calligraphy pen, highly influenced by “blackletter” letter forms. Several variations of the logo were created which vary from the main script style to a hand written “urban” style, including versions with decorative ligature elements. The color palette was kept minimal using mainly tints of black with 1–2 bright complimentary colors for contrast.
